About the series
In the city of Amberland in the northwestern United States, two sociopaths emerge at the same time, both drawn to the destructive power of fire: acting independently of each other, they set fires in crowded public places. They have long been pursued by Dave Gadsen, a former firefighter and now an ambitious investigator who tries to be a good family man and is writing a book about his work. To catch the criminals, he reluctantly joins forces with the tough, experienced detective Michelle Calderon, who is constantly distracted from the investigation by difficult events from her past.
