About the title
The film's heroine, young Vasilissa, sets off on a dangerous journey into the very heart of a dense forest ruled by dark forces in order to save her parents. She will have to endure many trials, learn to overcome fear, and meet her first love. Most importantly, Vasilissa must learn the truth about her origins, for the deeper she goes into the realm of evil spirits, the more clearly she realizes how much she has in common with them.
