About the title
The former vengeful ghost Kim Su-hong appears before the King of the Underworld, and the angel of death Kang-nim requests the standard procedure for him — he is confident he can convince the judges of his charge's innocence. The King agrees, but sets a condition: within 49 days, the angels must escort the soul of old man Heo, whose earthly time expired long ago, and prove Su-hong's innocence. The soul is guarded by a household spirit who not only regularly hands out beatings to those who come for it, but has also appeared before the old man and his young grandson and helps them around the house. Upon getting to know the household spirit better, the angels discover that he remembers the details of their lives and a connection between them dating back a thousand years.
