About the title
The film is based on real events. Russian sociologists Maxim Shugaley and his companion and interpreter Samer Sueifan travel to a country being torn apart by warring factions, at an official invitation. Their task is to conduct research meant to help end the fighting. However, in the course of their work they come into possession of information that could cost the "puppet" government dearly and must not leak outside Libya. After being kidnapped, the Russian specialists end up in a private prison, where for over a year, enduring torture and humiliation, they wait for even an official charge to be brought. Diplomatic attempts to resolve the matter peacefully reach a dead end, and the Russian side begins preparing a rescue operation.
