About the title
Cal, a police officer and Marine reservist, is used to doing everything by the book. When Oyster, Cal's younger half-brother, accidentally kills a man during a bar brawl and tries to run, Cal makes the guy answer to the full extent of the law. In the end, however, he realizes the law isn't always right, and decides to break Oyster out of prison.
