About the title
In the mid-1970s, the National Basketball Association left the American Basketball Association no chance, and it was decided to dissolve the latter. Only the top four teams of the ABA, in its final days, would be allowed to join the NBA, and the Flint Tropics are certainly not among them. However, the owner of the league's worst team (and also its player-coach), Jackie Moon, hasn't lost hope: he plans to take his team from last place in the standings to fourth, which would grant them a pass into the NBA. Putting his reckless, if not outright crazy, plan into action, Moon enlists the support of a washed-up star and tries to inspire his team to the greatest feat in its history.
