About the title
70-year-old Pyotr Semyonych has lived his whole life on the Black Sea coast. He has long been alone: his wife has died, and his daughter moved to Turkey many years ago and never keeps in touch. At the start of the film, he is diagnosed with lung sarcoma. Pyotr Semyonych accepts the illness as a fact — he begins to come to terms with his new reality and take stock of his life. But there's hope the diagnosis might be wrong. A leading Moscow specialist can provide clarity and will give his answer in a week. Over these seven days, Pyotr Semyonych will see his life in a new light: he'll recall what he considers the best and worst moments of his life, try to find new meaning in his existence, find the strength to change his life, and regain hope.
