About the title
The Salyut-7 space station, orbiting in unmanned mode, suddenly stops responding to signals from mission control. A decision is made to send a rescue mission into orbit. The crew must find the "dead" station and perform, for the first time in the world, a docking with a 20-ton hunk of uncontrolled metal. The cosmonauts understand they have little chance of returning to Earth. But this risky path is the only possible one. They must not only get aboard Salyut-7, but bring it back to life. Can the two men prevent an inevitable catastrophe and save the planet from the station's fall? The rescue mission turns into a dangerous ordeal. A real space detective story unfolds in orbit. The film is based on real events: the 1985 flight to the Salyut-7 station is considered the most difficult flight in the history of spaceflight.
