About the title
"Rock Beyond the Edge" is dedicated to Viktor Tsoi, Boris Grebenshchikov, and Sergei Kuryokhin, who became the leading figures of Russian rock in the 1980s and '90s. The film's experts are people who knew all three well: Marina Albee, Sergei Bugaev ("Afrika"), and Viktor Tikhomirov. The filmmakers sought to convey the atmosphere and energy of those years, as well as the reactions of today's young people to what was happening in rock culture before they were born.
