About the title
Once, as children, three friends burned down a house because of a stupid prank. To avoid taking the blame, the boys pinned it all on a man named Ricky Stanicky, whom they had invented themselves. Poor Ricky thus became their lifelong scapegoat, and twenty years later he is still helping them wriggle out of awkward situations. When their wives finally manage to persuade the men to introduce them to this mysterious Ricky, the heroes hire an actor to play him.
