About the series
The 3rd century BC, the Warring States period, when the territory of present-day China was home to many small kingdoms constantly at war with one another. On the outskirts of one such kingdom, two orphans, Xin and Piao, train every day in hopes of fulfilling their dream of becoming great generals. But one of the friends turns out to bear a striking resemblance to the ruler, and the young man is taken to the palace to serve as his body double. Before long, a bloodied Piao crawls to Xin's shack to die, and Xin, beside himself with rage, immediately sets out to avenge his friend's killers.
