Olga Buzova, a star of stage and screen, dreams of a romantic future with the perfect man — a handsome German named Heinrich, who is about to propose. She plans to buy an apartment with her earnings, but Heinrich suggests she take a risk and invest the money in his business — a dumpling factory in Nizhniye Teplyshki. In love and full of hope, Olya agrees, but soon discovers that her beloved is a con man who has vanished with her money. Refusing to give up, Buzova decides to travel to the small town to sell off the factory's equipment and recover at least part of her funds.
