About the title
Student Artyom falls in love with a young beauty from the Black Sea coast. Head over heels, he drops everything and follows his beloved to Russian South, about which he knows nothing. Once at the seaside, it turns out that lovely Ksyusha is already being courted by two serious local rivals — a handsome cadet from the naval academy and a brazen police officer. It seems the naive student has no chance at all. Even help from his new friends seems only to get in the way. But our hero isn't about to give up: so, it's war!
