About the title
Two seemingly unrelated people are found dead from hydrogen sulfide poisoning. The invited expert, geology professor Shunsuke Aoi, believes these were accidents with an extremely low probability of recurring. A police detective from Tokyo finds a connection between the deceased and cannot figure out how the murders — if they indeed took place — were committed, just as the professor encounters a high school girl named Madoka.
