About the title
Illegal immigrant Joy gets by on housekeeping jobs and, having no home of her own, secretly brings her daughter Grace — an active, mischievous little girl — into every household she works in. One day she takes a job at the Garrett mansion, where the elderly owner is gravely ill and unconscious, and his niece runs everything. At night, Grace sneaks out to cause mischief and, following the sleepwalking mistress of the house, sees something frightening. Joy doesn't believe her daughter, but she still begins to suspect that something is wrong in the house.
