About the title
Lin Dawei, an assistant in the county government, is in dire need of money. To feed his family, he conspires with his colleague Lu Qian. They decide to steal gold from the bandit Jin Mantan, but the plan lands them a long prison sentence. Ten years later, Lin is pardoned and returns home, but things aren't going well. He discovers that Jin Mantan has joined forces with smugglers and is terrorizing the people of his home village. To protect the innocent, Lu must once again take up his rusty blade.
