About the title
The knight of tail and sword, better known as Puss in Boots, heroically defeats a fearsome giant, but in doing so loses one of his nine lives — the eighth. The risk of dying once and for all pushes the hero to give up his adventures and become the new house cat of Mama Luna, where he strikes up a friendship with the therapy dog Perrito. A quiet, peaceful retirement is denied him, however, when he once again faces off against his sworn enemies — the criminal clan of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. With only one precious life left, Puss in Boots turns for help to his old flame, Kitty Softpaws.
