About the title
Capsules are brought into New Orleans that give whoever swallows them superpowers for 5 minutes. But what power a person gets cannot be predicted: one might get invisibility or super speed, while another might get instant death. High schooler Robin sells these pills to make ends meet and save up for her sick mother's operation, and sometimes supplies them to a police officer she knows, Frank. One day, former soldier Art approaches Robin and forces her to help him find the source of the mysterious capsules.
