About the title
Eighteen-year-old Carly starts dating a charming, wealthy fifty-year-old man named Kyle. Her mother finds the age gap suspicious and tries to talk her daughter out of the relationship. But Kyle turns out to be a skilled manipulator and manages to turn Carly against her family. Completely consumed by her feelings, the girl fails to notice that she has ended up locked in a cage — a golden one, but a cage all the same.
