About the title
The protagonists are young, brought together by love, surfing, and music. They record a mixtape on a cassette to underscore that their feelings are eternal. But a sudden tragedy cuts short the young lovers' future. Listening to the cassette again, the girl realizes she is being transported back into the past, to the fateful day she lost her beloved. Now she has a chance to go back and prevent the inevitable. "The Time Between Us" is a romantic love story set on a picturesque California beach.
