About the title
The adventures of a little chick named Ryzhik and a hermit partridge named Gairon. Fate brings them together when Ryzhik, left behind by his flock, is unable to fly south. Ryzhik persuades the eccentric, perpetually grumbling Gairon to show him the way to Paradise Valley — a secret place in the mountains where birds can wait out the harsh winter. The road there holds no shortage of dangers. Gradually, the ever-optimistic Ryzhik manages to melt the old hermit's heart. Together, the pair become a true family for one another, capable of moving mountains.
