About the title
Eight-year-old Nelly helps her mother Marion sort through the belongings in the house of her grandmother, who has just died. The girl explores the places where her mother grew up and finds a small house in the woods where Marion loved to spend time. One day Nelly's mother suddenly leaves, and the girl meets a peer of her own age, also named Marion, in the woods near the little house. "Petite Maman" is a drama by Céline Sciamma exploring the important transition from childhood to adulthood.
