About the series
After a year-long assignment, during which he worked as part of an investigative team on a high-profile case, Yuri Bragin returns to Saint Petersburg. Upon his return, he learns that Vadim Maltsev, the current head of the First Investigative Department of the First Division of the Main Investigative Directorate, is retiring. In all likelihood, Bragin will be offered his position. But Yuri is no careerist, and becoming department head is not his life's goal.
