About the title
The comedy "Reform Island" is about a group of ninth-graders known for their unruly behavior. One day they wreck their graduation by turning it into a wild party, and afterward are punished for the mischief they caused. Their parents decide to send the kids to an island in the middle of the Ob River, from which there's no escape, and they'll have to spend the whole summer there. There is a village where the farmer Stepanych lives, who turns out to be no simple country bumpkin but a stern former military man.
