After receiving a letter that his fiancée has married someone else, Oleg returns to Moscow from the oil fields. Wanting to win Lena back, Oleg gets a job where she works. His acquaintance Gosha leaves him in charge of his apartment. Oleg unexpectedly falls for Zina and accompanies her to Sochi, but upon learning that Lena has ended up in the hospital, he returns to Moscow.
