About the title
Boog enthusiastically plans the annual trip with his friends, but bitter disappointment awaits him: his buddies choose to stay with their families instead. Upset by their behavior, Boog sets off on his own, and along the way runs into a band of traveling circus performers. There he meets Doug — a brash, scruffy bear tired of endless circus performances. Doug longs to be recognized as the rightful ruler of the forest, so he persuades Boog to switch places with him. Some time later Boog finds true love, while his friends, learning that their pal has gone missing, organize a rescue mission…
