About the title
After an electromagnetic pulse struck the Earth, people were left without electricity. Some time later, humanity became the target of a previously unknown pathogen that wiped out most of the planet's population. Those who survived live a primitive life without electricity or technology, but everyone has weapons, because people have become enemies to one another. Worst of all in the new world is the situation with medicine. When Kellan's wife scrapes her leg on a car, the situation becomes desperate. There are only a few days to find antibiotics. Kellan sets out and meets a grim old man whose house is being persistently besieged by other survivors.
