About the title
Joe Scaravella from Brooklyn is lonely, has no prospects at work, and has just buried his beloved mother. Joe desperately wants life to give him a second chance. Then it occurs to him to open a restaurant — after all, his Italian mother loved cooking so much. The trouble is, Joe himself knows nothing about cooking, and he doesn't have much money either. But he finds a solution and hires grandmothers to work for him. After all, who better than they know how to feed someone deliciously and heal all emotional wounds with food? The Italian grannies cook their Sunday dinners every day — well, except maybe Christmas and Easter. Together with Joe, they find new friends and a new meaning in life. After all, it's never too late to start over.
