About the title
Cooper Brown is a cynical, stubborn cop who spends his days chasing bad guys and his nights hanging out with his buddies. And he wonders why things didn't work out with his ex-wife Samantha Phillips. Still, he hopes to rekindle the romance. Samantha is upset that she still has feelings for Cooper and is planning to move away to get over them. Then Penelope, whose mother has ended up in the hospital and who desperately wanted friends, enters Cooper's life and comes up with a "cops for kids" program in which she helps take care of a dog named Louie at the police kennel. A good, even poignant film about a difficult childhood and how a child can bring people's fates together.
