About the title
When darkness falls, Dwight roams the streets looking for homeless and destitute people — always loners. Dwight doesn't like killing, but he must supply his younger brother Thomas with fresh blood, or Thomas will die. With every victim, Dwight's conscience torments him more and more. For a while, he and his sister Jessie try to keep the boy alive, but at a certain point they will have to make a fateful decision.
