About the title
Pasha welcomes Vera's father with an open heart and is already prepared to call him "dad"... but then it turns out the good-natured pensioner has closets full of skeletons. And it's quite possible that's not just a figure of speech. At night he meets with strange characters and discusses some mysterious "operations." For some reason the neighbors are afraid of him.
