About the title
Beautiful and self-assured Mila is trying to find a husband for the quiet, shy Lyuba. One evening the two barely escape from local thugs and end up at the cozy house of a local guy, Slava. There they run into Kolya, a favorite among women, with whom Mila once had a romance. In the end, the plain and unlucky Lyuba takes the man Mila loves away from her and moves with him to Moscow, while Mila stays at the house by the sea and marries the modest Slava. Twenty years later, the characters are in for a new encounter and a new twist of fate.
