About the title
1999. Twelve-year-old Beverly finds a broken cassette tape of music recorded by her late parents. She decides to find these songs and learn more about her mom and dad. While searching for a cassette player, the girl stumbles upon an old electronics shop and strikes up a useful acquaintance with the shopkeeper. And soon, thanks to the tape, she makes new friends at school, forms a rock band to perform old hits, and runs to a vintage store for a t-shirt with a skull on it.
