They are the oldest creatures on the planet. Throughout their long history, the Minions have seen a great deal, and Gru, who became their final master and a good friend, stood at the very end of the list of villains these little yellow creatures tried to get along with. The original need of absolutely every Minion is to serve someone who has sold their soul to evil and is ready to commit terrible, unworthy deeds every day. Starting with dinosaurs that devoured their own kind, the Minions gradually moved on to serve one new creature after another. Prehistoric humans were replaced by pharaohs, who in turn gave way to such famous figures as Napoleon and Dracula. Yet every single one of them eventually vanished into oblivion, never becoming a lasting example of evil for the Minions or anyone else. For a while, the army of close-knit Minions gave up searching for a master. Having never found one worthy, they began to live for themselves.
