About the title
The 1970s. War photographer Eugene Smith returns to Japan on assignment for Life magazine, where an environmental disaster is unfolding in the small coastal town of Minamata. It's there that Smith will produce a report that will shock the world, capture some of the greatest images in the history of photography, and undergo a difficult journey of self-discovery and self-overcoming.
