About the series
The series is based on the nonfiction book by Donald L. Miller, which tells of the air battles of World War II through the eyes of British and American military pilots. Five miles above the ground and deep behind enemy lines, eleven men aboard a bomber known as the "Flying Fortress" fight for their lives against swarms of enemy German fighter planes. As American bombers are destroyed one after another, their mission becomes utterly clear: survive.
