About the series
Retiree Nikolai Nikolaevich sells his apartment to move to Moscow, closer to his daughter Yulia and 15-year-old granddaughter Polina. While visiting relatives, Nikolai Nikolaevich gets a call from someone claiming to be a bank employee and transfers him all the proceeds from the apartment sale. Reporting it to the police leads nowhere, so the technologically clueless old "mammoth" Nikolai Nikolaevich decides to investigate it himself. He has to plunge headfirst into the unfamiliar world of cybercrime: mastering the darknet, learning to trace phone billing records, download databases, and forge documents. His granddaughter Polina eagerly helps him with this, dreaming that her grandfather will get the money back and move out of their place as soon as possible.
