About the series
A screen adaptation of Georges Simenon's novels about Parisian inspector Jules Maigret. Young, bold, and intuitively perceptive, Maigret uses psychology, provocation, and the "bait" method to unravel the most convoluted crimes. The series shows the contrast between old Paris and its new realities - digital footprints, social networks, and global connections - and confronts the hero with dilemmas: how permissible manipulation is in the name of justice, how to read criminals' motives in an age of transparency and lies, and whether it's possible to preserve one's humanity when forced to play the role of the hunter. Each episode is a carefully constructed psychological detective story with an atmosphere of urban noir, where Maigret's methods often spark controversy but invariably lead to unexpected revelations.
