About the title
1928. At the request of his friend and colleague, an outstanding illusionist travels to the French Riviera to expose a young, attractive charlatan who supposedly can summon the spirits of the dead. She has charmed a wealthy heir and his widowed mother, which doesn't sit well with the rest of the family.
