About the title
The story unfolds in the world of professional poker. The film's protagonist is Huck Cheever, a player who spares no effort to win and is unafraid of risk. In his personal life, by contrast, he acts sensibly and cautiously, avoiding emotional outbursts and any commitments. Facing Bakersfield's Billy Offer, he encounters only one obstacle on his path - in the person of his father, a legendary poker player who abandoned Huck's mother many years ago.
