About the title
The main character of "God's Crooked Lines" is private detective Alice, who takes on a new investigation. A patient has died under strange circumstances at a psychiatric hospital. Everyone claims it was simply a case of heart failure, but the relatives refuse to believe that version. Getting into a psychiatric facility isn't easy - it's a closed institution requiring a dozen different permits. So Alice infiltrates the psychiatric clinic by claiming to suffer from paranoia, in order to investigate the circumstances of the patient's death from the inside. A secret world governed by its own terrifying rules opens up to her. Soon Alice begins to lose her bearings amid the madness unfolding around her.
