About the series
An English plane crashes over the Pacific Ocean. Only a group of schoolboys survives. The boys end up on a deserted island and are forced to fend for themselves. Two teenagers vie for leadership: the sensible and brave Ralph and Jack, the head of the church choir. Ralph proposes building shelters and lighting a fire on the mountaintop to attract attention and wait for rescue. Jack, meanwhile, forms a tribe of hunters and enters into open confrontation with Ralph, who was elected leader by vote. This standoff leads to tragic consequences.
