About the title
Karlygash (Kazakh for "swallow") lives with her husband and father-in-law on a horse-breeding farm lost in the Kazakh steppe. Karlygash is an outsider to everyone here, and Ilyas has not yet forgotten his first love for a girl named Aina. Everything changes when a foreigner arrives in their village — Louis, a French photographer who set off on a journey after separating from his wife.
