About the title
From the very start, the viewer becomes privy to the musings of the main character of "L'Idéal", Octave, a talent scout for one of the world's largest cosmetics companies. He's faced with the need to find new faces. Octave finds American women too healthy, French women, in his view, too temperamental, and German women too athletic. English women have problems with alcohol, Japanese women always comply with every requirement without showing any emotion, Dutch women are too uninhibited, and Spanish women incredibly languid. Having reached this conclusion, the hero realizes there's almost no country left in the world where a suitable model can be found. But then, suddenly, he remembers Russia.
