About the title
The school year has finally ended, and the long-awaited vacation has arrived. Little Nicholas, with his parents and grandmother, goes to the seaside to a hotel called "Beautiful Beach". Nicholas has at his disposal the sea, the hotel, the forest, friends, family, the beach lifeguard, and a swimming coach — in short, everything to make the holiday truly memorable. Wasting no time, Nicholas immediately makes new friends, including: Ben, who isn't on vacation, he's a local; Freddy the glutton, who eats everything in sight; Jocko, who is English and so speaks with a funny accent; crybaby Crispin, whose eyes are perpetually wet; and know-it-all Christopher, who is always right and therefore terribly annoying. Besides, Nicholas meets Elizabeth, who doesn't leave Nicholas's side for a moment. "What a lovely couple! I can already hear the wedding bells ringing!" the adults joke. Nicholas is panicking! Fortunately, his loyal friends come to his rescue and… that's when the real trouble begins.
