About the title
Jacques Mesrine, the great French gangster, became more famous in his homeland than the biggest movie star. Mesrine's exploits were always dizzyingly reckless, desperately daring, and utterly unpredictable in their design. It's no wonder he was called "the man with a thousand faces." Before setting off on a new big "job," he would always change his appearance — plastic surgery, makeup — transforming himself beyond recognition. The people worshipped him, women adored him, and the authorities called him "public enemy number one"!
