About the title
A reporter from Yekaterinburg is sent on assignment to a village lost deep in the taiga, where he hears an old legend about the lord of the forest. Upon returning home, he suddenly begins to see and hear this ancient spirit, who asks him to save vanishing fantastical creatures. The journalist agrees, and together with his 12-year-old daughter, who has come from Moscow to visit him for the holidays, sets off for lands almost untouched by civilization.
