Based on true events. 1985. A massive iceberg is bearing down on the icebreaker Mikhail Gromov. Maneuvering to avoid a collision, the ship becomes trapped in the ice and is forced into a helpless drift near the coast of Antarctica. All around lies an ominous silence and bitter cold. Fuel is running low... Nerves are stretched to the breaking point... And even if they could leave, there's nowhere to go. The icebreaker's command has no room for error.
