About the title
The myth of the Beast of Gévaudan is a rare legend born in France. In 1776, more than a hundred residents of the Gévaudan province died in the forests from attacks by a huge beast that, according to eyewitnesses, resembled a giant wolf with an elongated muzzle and knife-like teeth.
