About the title
Based on the novel of the same name by Finnish writer Rosa Liksom. A student from Finland boards a Moscow-Murmansk train, trying to escape her mysterious Moscow love affair. By chance, she has to share the long journey and a cramped compartment with a rough Russian miner. Their unexpected proximity helps both passengers of compartment number six realize their loneliness and longing for human connection. The novel was awarded the Finlandia Prize, the country's main national literary award.
